On Tuesday, March 31, Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker announced the extension of the state’s stay-at-home order, and the closing of all schools for onsite learning through April 30, 2020.
Therefore, District 34 buildings will be closed until at least May 1. However, teaching and learning will continue on our E-Learning Days. District 34 leadership and the E-Learning Team have been planning for this decision and preparing to support staff, students and families during additional E-Learning Days. We soon will share information with you about adjustments in school day schedules, opportunities for greater real-time connections between students and their teachers and peers. The District will continue to provide meals to students while schools are closed. The next distribution will take place the week of April 13.
As we look ahead to next week’s spring break, we recognize that your plans for your children are likely rather different at this point than they may have been just a week or so ago. In an effort to support our students still having a fun-filled break from “school,” our K-2 E-Learning team has put together a Spring Break Choice Chart. Please know that everything included in the linked document is entirely optional and meant just for fun!
The entire Westbrook staff wishes you a joyful, healthy and restful spring break.
You can find all the details at the district's dedicated E-Learning page:
Teachers will email further details/instructions daily.
We ask that you fill out this online form everyday in order to track participation in E-Learning.
