Let's Explore
States of Matter

Everything that takes up space and has mass is matter. Matter can be living or non-living.  Just about all matter on Earth can be found in one of three states.  The states are solid, liquid, and gas.  Another word for a state is phase.

The phase or state that something is in depends on its temperature.  To learn more about this concept, click here.
